Frances Story

Founder & Executive Director

Frances Story (she/her) is a writer based in Kansas City, Missouri.

A seasoned performance artist, Story is the founder and host of Salt Tooth Writers, which began in 2019 as The Writing Workshop KC.  She hosts weekly classes and offers creative coaching to private clients. Additionally, Frances is one half of the artist-to-artist podcast Confessing Animals.

Featured on Washington Post, Netflix Queer Eye, TEDx, NPR, Creative Mornings, Story is the author of 3 books of poetry and the recipient of numerous accolades including Advocate Magazine’s Champions of Pride award 2021. Story was voted The Pitch Kansas City’s Best Poet 2019 - 2021, with feature performances on Button Poetry and Write About Now Poetry. Her firstborn community love child, Kansas City Poetry Slam, sold out monthly 2014 - 2020.

Amanda Roth

Amanda Roth (she/her) is a writer and artist living in Central Texas.

Her writing has been published in Poetry South, Portland Review, Okay Donkey, Literary Mama, West Trestle Review, MAYDAY, Jet Fuel Review, and elsewhere. Her work has been nominated for the Pushcart Prize.

She teaches poetry at the Grunewald Guild and co-hosts the fairytale podcast, Retell Me.

Off the page, Amanda enjoys blockprinting, fiber arts, and ink sketching. In other words: erasure, relief, knots, and imperfection.

Mary Sauer (she/her) is a writer living in Kansas City, Missouri.

Lexi Ramirez Dickens (she/her) is a poet, writer and photographer living in Liberty, Missouri.
